Receiver Appointed For Labour Daily Paper
(Received 11 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. It is announced that a receiver has been appointed at the “Daily News”, formerly the “Labour Daily” newspaper. The director states that the receiver’s appointment is the outcome of an amicable arrangement with the Bank of New South Wales, which has an overdraft in the vicinity of £50,000 over the newspaper. Efforts are being made to sell the paper and plant by tender. Meanwhile, it carries on as the official organ of the Industrial Labour Party, led by Mr Heffron.
