Kamo

The April meeting of the Kamo Women's Institute was held in the hall but owing to prevalence of influenza, the attendance was small. The poppy day collection resulted in £4 9/- being received. It was decided not to hold birthday celebrations until after the winter show. The first of the new programmes prepared by the committee was conducted successfully. A roll call, “Early Schooldays,” proved entertaining. A competition, “toys for the winter show/’ was won by Mrs Edge, with Mrs Newman and Mrs Griffin second. Mrs Markwick contributed a song, and Mrs Sharrnan, oi Whangarei, gave an interesting lecture on her trip to Australia with the boy scouts and her further trip northwards through Queensland. * , £ # *
