Moore-Carey

A pretty wedding of interest to r. widespread circle of friends was celebrated last Satijrdaly at Whajigarei Methcdist Church, when Elsie May, .second daughter of. Mr and Mrs R. H. Carey, of Kaikohe, was married to youngest son of Mr and Mrs C. H. Moore, of Auckland. The ceremony was performed by Rev. H. J. Tozer, and Mr C. Lye, of Auckland, played the wedding music The church had been tastefully decorated by friends of the bride, Messrs F. Moore and J. Cutforth performed the duties of ushers at the church.

The bride, who entered with her father, made a charming picture in her white satin gown cut on classical lines. The corsage was cut high and caught at the neckline with sprays cf orange blossom. A niched panel at the back flowed into a graceful train and small buttons extended down the'-back of the dress. The sleeves were long and tightfitting. The veil of embroidered tulle was caught to the head with a halo of orange blossom buds. A lovely shower bouquet of white asters, carnations, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern, was carried and completed the ensemble.

In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Lila Cutforth (cousin of the bride) and Miss Emily Moore (sister of the bridegroom). Their dainty frocks were mad# alike of palest pink and green spotted net over satin respectively. Their frocks were cut on slendier lines, with Peter Pan collars and puffed sleeves. Small buttons down the front and rows of velvet ribbon to tone, with tjrue lovers knots, gave the frocks a dainty finish. They wore halos to tone and carried sheaths of pale pink asters, chrysanthemums and gladioli.

Shirley Clarke (niece of the bride) made a sweet little flower girl in pale pink spotted net over satin. She wore a wreath of pink flowers in her hair, and carried a horseshoe of flowers to tone.

The best man was Mr Charles Bell, of Auckland, and the groomsman was Mr Paul Fell, of Kohukohu. A reception was held afterwards, at the Marble Bar, where Mrs Carey mother'of the bride, received her guegts, She wore a smart gown of currant cloque, with cape and yoke of chenille georgette and long closefitting sleeves of currant lace. She wore a hat to tone and carried a posy of bronze-shaded flowers. ' Mrs Moore, of Auckland, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart dress of wine sand crepe, with hat and accessories to tone, and carried a posy in golden tints. The beautiful two-tiered wedding cake’.was made and presented by Mrs Hay, coDsin !'of the bride. The bride travelled in a smart suit of fuchsia toning with an oyster satin blouse and hat to tone. She wore a fur stole and completed her ensemble with navy accessories.

Mr and Mrs Moore will make them home in Ponsonby, Auckland.
