Net Revenue Of £701,064
•—RAILWAYS’ YEAR.
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”J WELLINGTON. This Day. The accounts of the Railways Department, covering operations during the year ended March 2!, were published in yesterday’s Gazette. The figures show a net revenue of £701,064. compared with £632,797 last year, and a Budget estimate of £300.000. Following is a comparison of. the accounts for the last two years, showing the results of railway operations in the two islands, and the aggregate transactions in respect of, other services;—
For the four-weekly period ended March 31 the net earnings were £254,120 as against £52.378 last year, an increase of £201,748. Tire gross earnings for the period were £921.309. winch is £183,940 more than in the equivalent period last year. Expenses amounted to £607.243, a decrease of £14,808.
