Kerikeri
The Kerikeri Cruising Club held a* very successful dance at Okaihau last i Friday. About 200 people were pre- | sent. One of the most popular items of the evening was a demonstration of the new dance, "The Chestnut Tree," by several members of the club, after, which the other dancers took the floor and attempted the dance, with varying degrees of success. Music was rendered by the Davies Swing Band. Among those present were: Mr H. Pickmere (commodcfc-e) and Mrs Pickmere, Mr H. Alexander (secertary) and Mrs Alexander, Mr and Mrs K. Bryson, Mr and Mrs T. Rooke, Miss P. Humphries (Auckland), Miss L. Kendall, Miss L. Ritchie, Miss E. Neill, Miss D. Jeffries, Miss Harris. j Social Mrs E. McKenzie has returned from Auckland with her son John. Miss O. Hewett has left Kerikeri for a short holiday. Miss J. Benner has gone to Auckland on a brief visit. Mrs T. R. Anderson is taking a fortnight's holiday at Paihia. Mr G. Walker has left for Wellington where he is staying with his parents.
