School For Dogs At Broadwood

| Sheep dog trials have received a ; stimulus in the Broadwood district by the establishment of a local school for man and dog. During the past 12 months, with the exception of a break through the hot weather, when the sheep were too heavy in wool, up to 18 men and dogs gathered each Sunday at "Rockfield,'* Irvine Brothers' property at Runaruna. No organisation has been formed, but an enjoyable picnic outing has been experienced by participants and their families. Mr P. G. L. MeKenzie has acted as instructor, and he has commented that he has never seen so many young dogs of a good class before, both in work and type. Prominent trial men, who have assisted, are Mr W.
