Sinister Fire At Army Depot
[lndependent Cable Service. 1 LONDON. May 10. Following anonymous threats received at a Royal Air Force station nearby, a big fire at the army ordnance depot near Nottingham last night destroyed many light motor vehicles and tyres. The report is one of the chief distributing centres of army cars. The Australian Associated Press, in a later message, says the petrol tanks burst, and one large shed was destroyed, but the other was saved. It is officially stated that no vehicles were damaged, and that a large number of tyres were saved. A soldier has been remanded on a charge of setting fire to the building, states a subsequent message.
