Values At Waiotira Sale
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. reports that there was quite a good yarding with an average attendance of buyers at the firm’s Waiotira sale. With the exception of store bullocks, which were not wanted, everything was sold at late rates. Prices were: —Best dairy cows and heifers, £5 15/ to £6 5/; fat cows, best, £5 15/ to £6 15/; lighter, £4 to £4 17/6; light fat bullocks. £9 17/; heavy boner cows, £2 to £2 17/6; lighter, 25/ to 32/6; potters. 10/; medium veal calves, £1 18/ to £2 7/; good . two-year in-calf Shorthorn heifers, £4 8/; boner bulls, £5 15/. Sheep.—Fat wethers, 17/; store wethers, two-tooth. 13/8; Romney wether lambs. 9/1.
Bright Tone At Westfield
v Special to “Northern Advocate ”l AUCKLAND, This Day.
At the Westfield fat stock sale yesterday all sections showed a bright tone with the exception of the calf sale. Ox beef was quoted fully firm, and values for cow and heifer beef showed a definite firming trend. The mutton sales showed only a slight weakness after the sharp rise last week, the difference’ being in quotations for owes. Lambs were bought at late rates, except in the case of inferior sorts. Porker pigs improved in price, average quotations being a farthing per lb. better than before, while baconers held finnly to their improved levels. Dalgety and Company Limited, report as follows: — Sheep.—Extra heavy prime wethers, £1 5/ to £1 6/3; heavy, £1 4/ to £1 4/6; medium. £1 3/ to £1 3/6; light and unfinished. 19/ to £1 1/6; heavy prime ewes, 18/6 to £1 1/9: lighter. 18/ to 18/; other owes. 5/ to 15/.
Lambs. —Heavy prime lambs, 22/ to 25/; medium. 20/ to 21/; lighter, 18 to 19/6; small and light. 12/ to 17/. Calves. —Runners, £3 10/ to £5; heavy vealers, £3 12/ to £4 6/; medium, £2 14y to £3 6/; light. £2 to £2 10/; small. £1 8/ to £1 16/; smaller, 16/ to £1 4’; bobby calves, O' 1 to 13/. ‘

Fat Sheep Prices Improve At Addington

There was a much smaller entry of fat sheep at Addington yesterday, and an improved market resulted in this section!
Lambs ranged from 4/3 to 11/3. A pen of wethers sold at 13/4, and others at 8/6 and 10/1. Prime sheep sold well, the average advance being 1/ to 1/8. Extra prime heavy wethers made to 28/1; prime heavy, 22/ to 24/6: prime medium, 19/6 to 21/6; light, to 14/6; extra prime heavy ewes, to 24/4; prime, 17/6 to 19/6; prime medium. 13/ to 16/6; light, to 7/6. Extra prime heavy steers made to £l6 17/6: prime heavy, £l3 5/ to £l45/; prime medium, £ll 15/ to £l3 5/; light, to £B/5; extra prime heifers, to £l2 2/6: prime, £9 to £lO 5/; medium, £6 5/ to £8 5/; light, to £6: extra prime cows, to £l3 12/6; prime, £7 to £8 5/; medium, £5 to £6 15/; light, to £4 15/.
