Fog Causes Delay To Royal Tourists
(Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, May 8. Fog to-day enveloped the liner Empress of Australia, in which the King and Queen are bound for Canada, and the vessel was slowed down to 12 knots, with the siren sounding intermittently. Tire escorting cruisers fell astern in single line. The liner has been encountering mixed weather, with considerable periods of fog, says, a British Official Wireless message. Reports from the ship state that His Majesty spent some time this morning going through State papers and official messages despatched to him by radio. The second day’s run yesterday was 396 miles.
Reuter’s special correspondent on beard the Empress of Australia gays the King? is looking very fit and happy. He.visited the swimming pool to-day, and played deck tennis. The weather is still variable and occasionally stormy.
