House Destroyed By Fire At Totara North

While in the course of being demolished at mid-day on Saturday, a fourroomed house was completely destroyed by fire at Totara North. Owners of the house were two sisters, Mesdames Bramley and C. Fleming, and the occupier was Mrs Edith Bennett, another sister. Practically everything in the house was burned, only a small quantity of the contents being saved. There were no insurances on the building. While the house was being demolished, a fire was burning in the kitchen and it is thought that the outbreak here originated. The site of the building was near the spot where the historic Boyd was burned in the early pioneering days.
