As the result of rain overnight and during the morning, the going on No. 3 grass track; which was used for fast work at Eilerslie this morning, was not conducive to fast times being recorded.
<■ First Gold Money and Boy Lu got to the end of half a mile in 55 2-5 seconds, the former having an advantage at the finish.
Over a similar distance. Bonny Belie registered 53 1-5 seconds. Aero Queen was in front of Loyal Grant after traversing five furlongs in 1.6, the last half-mile taking 52 3-5 seconds.
Efectric Flash was given strong work, which he completed by running the last seven furlongs in 1.41. Knight of Australia got to the end of six furlongs in 1.19. He was going well within himself at the end. The stablemates Fleetwind and Waitarma came home from the half-mile post in 56 3-5 seconds. Fleetwind was doing her work very easily. After going away slowly from the six-furlong post, Trevace came homo in 1.18 4-5, the last five furlongs taking 1.5. Tybalt was timed to run five furlongs in 1.5 1-5, the last half-mile taking 51 1-5 seconds. It was a good effort, and he handled the going well. Tooley Street was too good for Miss Appellant over half a mile, which occupied 51 2-5 seconds. Tire last three furlongs took 38 seconds, and Tooley Street hit out very freely.
The best half-mile of the morning was Credited to Aero King, who ran the distance in 50 2-5 seconds, after taking 37 2-5 seconds for his last three furlongs. Aero King is in great form after his racing at Whangaroi. Going well within herself. Silver Qucx got to the end of half a mile in 53 1-5 seconds.
Beeswing and Bright Idea wore allotted a useful task over a sprint distance, but were not after time. Imperator completed the last halfmile of his work in 57 seconds, and Tea Gong strode homo from the fivefurlong post in 1.11. He increased the speed over the last three furlongs, which took 42 seconds. After running their first two furlongs in 2(1 seconds. Royal Ace and Right Royal continued on to complete five in 1.4 1-5. It was flic best effort over the distance, and Royal Ace was doing the bettor of the pair at the end.
Adsum led Black Marlin over a round, run in 1.48, the last six furlongs taking 1.24 4-5 and the final half-mile 55' 2-5 seconds. Both horses had a good deal in reserve. Rajanya. after running his first throe furlongs in 40 3-5 seconds, was easing up at the end of. six. which took 1.24 4-5. All Irish had Jonathan as a companion over a round, the latter finishing in front in 1.43 2-5, after running the last six furlongs in 1.22. Alyth cantered round to the threefurlong post'and came home in 44 3-5 seconds, doing it very easily. The hurdler Golden Spahi completed six furlongs in 1.22, after running the first three furlongs in 40 seconds.
