W.D.F.U. Garden Fete

A pleasant afternoon was spent in perfect weather conditions at the home of Mr and Mrs H. T. Snell, Maunu, on Saturday last, when the Whangarei branch of the W.D.F.U. held a fete in aid of funds. Mr W. Mulholland, the Dominion president, was present, and was received by the Mrs Snell, president of the local branch. Energetic members of the division were in charge of various stalls arranged in the delightful surroundings of Mrs Snell’s beautiful garden. Members in charge (with their helpers) were: Produce, Mrs Bourke; sweets and cakes, Mrs Pawson; ice cream, Mrs Horrobin and Mrs Armstrong; soft drinks, Mrs McKinney and Mrs Bushby; afternoon tea. Mrs McKay and Mrs Davies-Colley. The result of the effort should substantially help the funds of the division.
