Mr. J.E. Henderson Is Borough Councillor

Mr. James Ernest Hendei'son, of Kamo Road, has been elected to the Whangarei Borough Council. To till the vacancy caused by the retirement of Mr. F. C. H. Cowan on 'March 24. nominations were called for without any being received. In accordance with the Act, (he -returning officer, Mr. L. O. Hall, invited nominations a second time, and when these closed at noon to-day, that of Mr. Henderson was the only one received.

Mr. Henderson, who has been an aspirant for municipal honours in several previous occasions increased his vote considerably at the election last May. He will be installed to office at the next meeting of the council on May ,2.
