South-West Africa As Part of Union
CAPETOWN. April 19
General Smuts, introducing a Bill incorporating South-West Africa in the Union, said that the despatch of police to South-West Africa was indicated the possibility of a serious breach of the law which should be forestalled.
The Bill was read a first time by 82 votes to 20
Replying tc the debate, General Smuts said that hundreds of young Germans from South-West Africa were going to Germany annually and returning fully trained soldiers. The remainder of the population was unchanged.
