Miniature Rifle Club Has Good Year
The season ending 1937-38 had proved most satisfactory, financially, stated Mr A. Higgins in presenting the president’s report at the .annual general meeting of the Whangarei Miniature Rifle Club on Wednesday night.
The credit balance of about £5, together with assets of £l7. was the highest for many years and is ,a credit to the executive.
The standard of marksmanship left room for improvement, especially among the better shooters, and, during the year, the averages were down. No possibles were recorded at club shoots.
Competitive shooting bad been much better and the club had taken second place to Taumarunui in the Jack Harland Memorial Shield.
1 To encourage younger members the president suggested that besides the aggregate trophies for the regular attenders, a points cup should be competed for every night.
