Audacious Thieves

[Per Press Association. Copyright .i HASTINGS, This Day. The fact that*'members of the staff were still working in adjacent offices did not deter an audacious atlempt at theft by two young men who entered the “Daily Mail” office in Hastings early on Saturday morning. The intruders ransacked the main office, but were unsuccessful in a search for the strongroom keys. Members of the staff, hearing a noise, disturbed the intruders, who escaped. On the same morning, thieves gained an entry to a butcher’s shop in Hastings, and searched the office for the safe keys, which were found. The safe was opened and £45 was stolen.
