Whangarei v Dargaville At Tennis
In a tennis match played at the Whangarei courts yesterday. the Whangarei club defeated Dargaville by 47 sets to 7; 399 games to 233. Although badly beaten the visitors had thoroughly enjoyed the match which had been productive of keen and interesting tennis, said Mr S. C. Gould, the president of the Dargaville Club.
The day, he said, had been arranged by Mr C. Reilly of the Whangarei Club to whom the thanks ot all were due, as they were to the Whangarei ladies for their abounding hospitality. The Whangarei president, Mr Les Dyer, replying, agreed with Mr Gould that further matches of a similar nature would Ire of great benefit to the game A return match would be played at Dargaville on Sunday week.
