Neville Does Well In Championship Series
Conditions were fairly good, although a light fishtail wind was blowing when the members of the Whangarei Defence Rifle Club were at the range on Sunday.
In the championship series, there was a double shoot at 300 yards, the top scorer being G. Neville, with 49, 47, total 96. Other scores were; —
W. Norris, 46, 49. 95; J. H. Ashton, 44, 49, 93; W, Boreham, 46, 47. 93; E.
A. Foot, 42, 42, handicap 6, 90; J. Norris, 46, 42, 88; A. Williams, 31, 39, handicap 16, 86; J. Litchfield, 42, 39, 81; A. E. Austin. 31, 34, handicap 16, 81; D. L. Smith, 37, 38, handicap 4, 79.
In the afternoon a double shoot was held at 500yds with a single at 600. Best scores were:—
W. Norris, 50, 48. 48, total 146; G. Neville, 48, 48. 47, 143; E. A. Foot, 43. 46, 44, handicap 9. 142; J. Litchfield, 49. 46, 46, 141; J. H. Ashton. 46. 44, 48, 138; J. Norris. 47, 46. 45, 138.
