Death Of Colonel George Mitchell

The death occurred in a private hospital on Thursday night of Colonel George Mitchell, D.S.'O., aged 62. He was manager of the Wellington Show Association.

Borh in Balclutha, he served in the South African War and Great War. Colonel Mitchell took up his residence in Wellington after his return from the war, and won the Wellington seat in Parliament in 1919, but was defeated by the present member, Mr McKeen, in 1922.
