Moss-Newman
At St. Mark's Church, Broadwood. on March 4, the wedding was solemnised of Margaret Cleon, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs- K. Newman, of Runaruna, and Ernest, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Moss, of St. Hellers’ Bay, Auckland.
The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her fater, wore a gown of pale pink organza over satin touche cut on early Victorian lines with puffed sleeves and a heart-shaped neckline. Long pink mittens and pale pink, tulle veil edged with lace were chosen to match. The veil fell away from a cluster of pink orange blossom caught on the top of the head. Her bouquet was of pink sweet peas and tiger lillies with maidenhair fern.
Attending the bride were her sister, Miss Grace Newman, as chief bridesmaid, and Misses Catherine and June
Newman, cousins of the bride
Wearing pale green figured organdie over satin, and finished with small satin buttons from the back neckline, with puffed sleeves and pale green mittens, the bridesmaids completed their toilette with bouquets of asters and asparagus fern and a coronet of silver leaves and pink carnations worn as headdresses.
Mr. Robert Ling attended as best man, with Messrs. Ray Gunn and Dick Hawkins as groomsmen. Mr. David Newman acted as usher.
The wedding was solemnised by the Rev. Mr. Cable, and Miss Wynn Wiggins officiated at the organ. Following the ceremony the guests were received at the home of the bride’s parents, by Mrs. Newman who wore a navy and white sheer frock, a navy coat and a smart blue toque with a small eye-veil.
Mrs. Moss, who assisted the-mother of the bride, wore a vieux rose frock with a fur cape and a smart navy toque.
At the conclusion of the reception the bridal couple left by car, the bride travelling in London tan relieved with green, with a hat and green accessories to match.-
Mr. and Mrs. Moss will be making their future home in Western Australia.
Among -the guests were; Tvirs. Jarvie, sister of the bridgegroom, who wore a navy and white frock and a smart navy halo; Mrs. W. Newfnan, aunt of the bride, who wore a light navy silk ensemble, with a white posy; Mrs. McLeod, aunt of the bride, wore a smart black and heliotrope silk frock, black sheer coat and small straw hat; Miss Joan McLeod, navy blue floral silk crepe and picture hat; Mr. and Mrs. C. Newman, Mrs. Copland, Master Andrew-and Miss Copland, Miss V. Newman, Miss Mary Newman, Mrs. E. Farrell, Misses Wynn Wiggins, M. McKee, Mr, and Mrs. I. Hall, Messrs. K. J. and David Newman, and Edwards.
