Sixteen Pairs In Night Bowls Tourney

Sixteen pairs took part in the Whangarei Bowling Club’s pairs tourney under the electric light last night. After the first round of 21 heads, the following eight players were left in: Lamb, Brydon, Marwick, Wilding, Whitham, Wise, Clarke, Staple. After the second round, Lamb, Marwick, Wilding and Wise were still in. but Lamb and Wise fell in the next games, and in the final between Marwick and Wilding, Marwick won, 5—3, in a five-head game. The winners wore Roseman and Marwick, with Woledge and Wilding as runners-up.
