High Schools Assisi At Kaikohe
Continuing me featured events during Physical Fitness Week, boys and girls’ cricket teams from Kawakavva District High School travelled to meet representatives of the Kaikohe District High. School. A feature of the play was a brilliant knock by Rogers, who notched 57 not out for Kaikohe by cricket worthy of senior competition standard. In dismissing Kawakawa for the small total of 14 in the first innings credit must be given to Eruera who in three overs took five wickets for seven runs. Pearson shared the honours by taking five wickets for five runs. Kaikohe boys won by an innings and 56 runs. Details are. — Kaikohe, First Innings, 108 (Rogers 57, not out, Pearson 14, Ritchie 10; Sanders took 3 for 31, Riddell 2 for 34, Wright 2 for 17). Kawakawa, First Innings, 14; second innings, 38 (Sanders 11. Dickison 9; Ingham took 3 for 8; Wilde 2 for 3, Smith 2 for 3). In the girl’s game. Kawakawa defeated Kaikohe by two runs, 56 to Kaikohe’s 54. The visitors were entertained by the Kaikohe High School girls and at the conclusion of the match Mr Preston presented the Ingram Challenge Cup for competition between junior teams to the -winning captain.
