Mill And Bush Threatened By Fire
[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] HASTINGS. This Day. Fire threatens a large sawmill and an area of native bush at Puketitiri, 35 miles inland from Napier, but measures taken for its control have so far proved effective. The mill is owned by McLeod and Gardiner, Ltd., the management of which said last night that all would be safe provided an easterly wind did not spring up and drive the flames in the direction of the standing bush and the mill building.
