Mayor Appeals For Support

“A number of Whangarei citizens, both ladies and men, have given a great deal of time and! thought to the physical fitness campaign, and I would like to ask the public to support them in their efforts,” said the Mayor, Mr. W. Jones, on Saturday. “The campaign is on the right lines,” he remarked to an “Advocate” representative when watching the display at Kensington Park during the afternoon. • First Year of Operation, “This is the movement’s first year, and there is no doubt that in future years the organisation will be placed on a more consolidated basis, and that much good will result to the health of the Dominion.

“The men , and woman who have organised this initial effort in Whangarex are reserving of the thanks of the people of the district.” Mr. Jones commended the public for the measure of support which had already been accoi'ded the effort despite the short time available for preparation.
