Reich Dominates Czechoslovakia
(Received 9 a.m.) LONDON, January 28. The far-reaching nature of the de-j mands which Germany is making on | Czechoslovakia is revealed by three | official announcements from Prague. The first is that the Czechoslovakia Government has agreed to allow German troops to traverse its territory whenever Germany desires, without previous permission. The agreement. is reciprocal, but it is pointed out that it means nothing to Czechoslovakia, and everything to Germany. The second announcement is ‘that the present 'strength of the Czechoslovak army is to be considerably reduced. The number of officers will be halved. ‘ ; '
Thirdly, Czechoslovakia has agreed not to develop industries which would compete with Germany’s, or to build new factories to replace those handed over with Sudeten -land.
