Alleged Attempted Housebreaking

Two men appeared in the Auckland Police' Court to-day, charged with attempting to break and enter the premises of a Wyndham Street jeweller’s and watchmaker’s shop late on Saturday.
John Cozens, 37, painter, was charged with being a rogue and vagabond, in that he had in his possession implements of housebreaking. Cozens and George Smale, 44, motor mechanic, were jointly charged with attempting to break and enter the jewellery shop, with intent to commit crime. Both were remanded until Thursday.
