Farewell Afternoon At Oruru
The Oruru-Peria Women’s Institute held a social afternoon in the Oruru Hall to farewell Mrs Hilford, a member who is leaving the district. Mrs Francis, senr., the oldest member, presented Mrs Hilford with a beautiful bouquet, Mrs Barriball making the presentation of a gift from the Institute members. She wished Mrs Hilford all success and happiness in the future. Mrs Hilford suitably responded and the singing of “Auld Lang Syne” brought the afternoon to a close.
