Danger of Cobalt. A warning note was sounded at Kaitaia by Mr R. A. Candy, of the Waikato, concerning the unwise use of cobalt as a manure. Some farmers, he said, might bo unconsciously influenced into using preparations which arc entirely unsuited to their requirements. When there was a deficiency in cobalt, wonderful results had been achieved by making up the need, but the utilisation of cobalt haphazardly, and its use in cases whore it was not required, would probably do more harm than good, ho said. He added that the question was fully covered at the Grasslands Conference at Ruakura last October, as a result of which the Department of Agriculture had prepared a treatise on the subject.
