Man Hurtles To Death From City Hotel

Horrified spectators saw a man fall from the sixth floor of a city hotel late yesterday afternoon. He struck the pavement below and was killed instantly.
The body was subsequently identified ,as that of Mr. Edgar Ronald MacKenzie, salesman, aged 27. of 2 Aitken Terrace, Mt. Albert, a married man with one child. Mr. MacKenzie had been sitting at a- writing table in the lounge of the Station Hotel. The only other two visitors in the lounge at the same time saw him cross to the telephone box several times.
Cne of the visitors left the lounge and, shortly afterwards, one of the lounge stewards, Mr. W. E. Crouch, s.aw Mr. MacKenzie on a settee with one leg through an open window. Mr. Crouch made a dash across the lounge but before he. reached the window Mr. MacZenzie had disappeared. Mi'. MacKenzie left a number of messages on the writing table at the hotel. One read; “To the management of this hotel. Please report this accident to 2 Aitken Terrace.”
