Competition Leaders Meet
CRICKET
The two competition leaders, Ruawai and Ararua, met at Ararua on Saturday in the first match of the last round of play in the Eastern Wairoa cricket competitions. For the third time in the season Ararua secured a four-point win. Batting first, Ruawai totalled 93, Hawkins (26 not out) and R. Wilson (20) being the chief scorers. P. Stratford secured five wickets for -33 runs for Ararua. Good batting by C. Stevens (36), C. Canny (31 not out) and P. Stratford (22) put Ararua in front for the loss of only 4 wickets. Scores: Ruawai, 93. Ararua, 139 for five wickets.
