Mr Frank Marsh

OBITUARY

Said to have held the record for the largest number of fish caught in the Whangarei harbour, Mr Frank Marsh, a Whangarei resident of 25 years' standing, died in the Whangarei District Hospital yesterday afternoon. The late Mr Marsh, who was the third son of the late Mr Richard John Marsh, a commander in H.M. Royal Navy, was born at Wade, Auckland, 64 years ago, and spent the earlier days of his career boat-building and mining in the Auckland district. Thirty years ago he was engaged in the paper-milling industry at Riverhead, on the outskirts of Auckland. Coming to Whangarei 25 years ago. he entered the fishing industry, a field in which he met with considerable success. The late Mr Marsh was married twice, there being six children of the first union and seven of the second. The funeral takes place at the Maunu Cemetery to-morrow afternoon.
