With some of the finest scenery in the world and our great out of doors, New Zealand could well become one of the leading countries for a great Youth centre. Richard Schirrmann did a fine work when, in 1910, he popularised the idea of Youth Hostels in Germany, which spread to 25 other countries. In America, Youth Hostels arc everywhere and are described as “a facility for travel.” They give youth a chance to get around, exchange ideas and keep them fit.
