Fitness Week Arrangements In Kohukohu

Three town Board members, the Town Clerk and two press representatives made up the body of the meeting held yesterday in Kohukohu to discuss organisation for the National Fitness Week in February. There were only 10 persons present altogether. Presidents and secretaries of local sports clubs together with those attending the meeting were appointed a committee to further the scheme. Owing to the difficulty in organising a week’s programme, it was decided to limit the demonstration or programme to one or two days. Swimming instruction will take a major part in the arrangements and endeavours are being made to have a Government instructor in the town to teach district children the art of swimming—a task which it was considered would not lake more than two days. Efforts are being made to interest all organisations, such as Women's Institutgs, in the project.
