[Special to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day. Lack of entries has necessitated the abandonment of the projected ocean yacht race from Auckland to Sydney for the Trans-Tasman Cup, which was to have been held this month by , the Royal Akerana Yacht Club. The only entrant, the 36-foot Auckland cutter, Wayfarer, will nevertheless make a leisurely cruise across the Tasman, leaving 'about the middle of next week. The Wayfarer was one of the two vessels which competed in the last race held for the Trans-Tas-man Cup in January, 1938. She was damaged in a fierce gale near Cape M'aria' van Rfieven, and had to return to Whangaroa, retiring from the race.
