Continued strength was shown in Government stocks and shares, while there were buyers tor Auckland Harbour Boards and Cities. ' There was ,a slight increase in South British. There was a drop in support for Gas shares, this being a reaction to the dividend announced yesterday.

The Australian market reflected the slackness that is being experienced over the Tasman.
