Bi'g scoring also featured in the other senior fixture, Services and Onerahi. Batting first, Onerahi had 100 up in 58 minutes, Hewlett and Fyfe giving a fine display for 46 and 43 respectively. Services allowed many extra runs through bad fielding, and Onerahi' had little difficulty with the opposition bowlers. Hewitt and W. Whimp played havoc with the bowlers, the latter playing one of the finest innings of the day to bring up 38. Hewitt, after playing some fine shots, fell a victim to a beautiful ball from Power —the first of an over. Unfortunately the tail did not wag too merrily, and with 200 on in one hour and 55 minutes, Onerahi went down with 220 on the telegraph. Services made an erratic start. Batten and Williams opening to compile 16 and 21 respectively. Saul carried his bat for 16, but stumps were falling fast and, with seven down for 108, the outlook was not too bright when time was called. Scores were:— ONERAHI. First Innings, C. ticwlctl. c Ferguson, b Power . 46 Fyfe, played on. b Power 43 McKoy, Ibw, b Menzies . 15
