Chanceless batting by Kelly and Coote, was the feature of the Old Boys-Services encounter. The batsmen scored on both sides of the wicket, and quick bowling changes had little effect. Services were left with about two hours to score over 200 runs. Norris, However, whs dnadly and Services; found themselves fighting for n draw. With six minutes to play and three men to go they seemed certain of sharing the points. Norris put a little extra into his swing, however, and the last Ihrce wickets fell in one over.
