Fire In Dargaville Electrical Shop

DARGAVILLE, This Day,

When fire broke out in a workshop at three o’clock yesterday morning on the premises of the McKay Electrical Company, Victoria Street, Dargavillo, damage to the extent of £420 was caused to motor trucks and equipment.

The alarm was given by Mr S, Garyie, who, with his wife and family, occupies the upstairs portion of the building. Battery-testers destroyed were valued at £ 100, and the damage to the bodywork of the trucks amounted to £l2O.

The brigade was successful ' in extinguishing the flames before they penetrated into the main building, although the heat damaged new electrical equipment to the extent of about £2OO.
