Kohukohn’s Main Street To Be Sealed
Preparatory to tar-sealing, the road through Kohukohu township is being finally surveyed. A bitumen section is to be laid from Fell's Garage at the northern end. to the hall at the south. The survey party have been at work for some days and expect to finish the outdoor portion during this week. Thereafter comes the drafting of the actual work to bo done. It is understood that a certain amount of reconstruction will be involved before the sealing commences. This, however, is not expected to cause any trouble, and it is hoped that the whole work will be finished about the end of March. New Road Proposed This is the second survey carried out within the town area in recent months, a surveyor having been employed for some time preparing plans for the proposed new road over the old mill site. No further advice is to hand concerning this project, but it is- hoped that, some indication will be given by the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple, during his pending tour of the North.
