Northland Team Wins At Kohukohu

The touring team of young Northland tennis players visited Kohukohu on Friday. Weather conditions were perfect. The Kohukohu players were a fair match for the representatives, who won 10 games to 5. There was a very good attendance of spectators. How Games Went In the results Northland players are mentioned first: Men’s singles: Pollock lost to Bateup, 5 —9; Lane beat Holland, 9 —3; Hilford beat Andrewes, 9—l; Brown beat Hawkins. 9—6; Crawford beat. Hartley, 9-—6; Cadman lost to Bowler, 3—9. Ladies' singles: Miss Smith lost to Mrs. Clark. 7—9; Miss McDonald beat Miss Andrewes, 9 —B. Men’s doubles: Crawford and Leech beat Bateup and Holland, 9 —5; Babe and Wilford beat Andrewes and Hawkins, 9 —B; Cadman and Lane beat Andrewes and Hawkins, 9—2; Pollock end Brown beat Hartley and Bateup, 9—7.

Combined doubles: Miss Smith and Miss McDonald lost to Miss Andrewes and Mrs. Clark, I—9; Miss McDonald and Leech beat Mrs. Clark and Holland, 9 —B; Miss Smith and Babe lost to Miss Andrewes and Bateup, 4—9.
