No. 3 grass (rack was opened this morning, but there was little , fast work. However, some of the recent arrivals were given useful tasks. The weather was perfect, and the going in good order. Courtcraft finished up his work by running his last, half-mile in 52 2-5 seconds.
Trench Fight strode over six furlongs in 1.22 4-5, the last half-mile being covered in 55 3-5 seconds. The two-year-olds, Silver Slick, Pern and Lutanist, were exercised on the two-year-olds’ tracks, but were hot doing better than 15 seconds to the furlong.
Defaulter was let off with an easy task, being cantered over a round on the sand track.
Willie Win and Arctic. King were worked separately over a couple of rounds on the sand track, but wore not going bettor than half-pace. Dictate, Good Passage and Paper ! Slipper were allotted useful tasks. (The last-named looks exceptionally ! well. Mazir was given steady work over a couple of rounds on the sand track, increasing the pace the second time.
