Funds For T.B. Research
[Special to “Northern AdnQca lc”3 CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
More than £12,000 will be spent on research into tuberculosis at the Medical School of the University of Otago over a period of seven years. The income will come from the Travis Bequest, according to an announcement made last evening by the chairman of the board of trustees, Mr J. W. Beanland.
The bequest, which was made under the will of Mr W. H. Travis, of Christchurch, who died in June, 1927, amounted to about £50,000, and the testator stipulated that the income was ’to be spent on research into tuberculosis and cancer.
