Storing Up For Wartime
War-scare precautions were aired iu the North Auckland Electric Power Board meeting when Mr W. Collins suggested that the engineer should ensure that more than ample supplies of certain materials were secured. He thought that the engineer should take stock of materials on hand and, where necessary, order additional quantities to tide over possible shortage in the event of war. The chairman, Mr J. A.
McLean, however, was of the opinion that the engineer was fully conversant with the position, and that he knew as much about the effects on markets as board members. Mr Collins’ remarks did not result fn any action being taken.
T° answer charges: arising out of incidents in a billard saloon at New Plymouth, when he made an attack on Reginald Edgecombe, Victor J.
