Appeal To Young People

Urging young people to give serious consideration to the issues at slake in the coming election, Mr C. A. Wilkinson, M.P. for Egmont. gave an interesting address to the younger members of Whangarei's business world at lunch-time to-day. Mr Wilkinson referred to the basic meaning of socialism and the ultimate outcome of present legislation if the Government were elected to office again. He urged his listeners to study their duties as citizens in the problems that lay ahead. The election

would be a vital one for the country, and the opportunities, of young people wishing to make a start in business for themselves would depend to a very great extent on which way they voted. There was a good attendance at the meeting, which was held in the National Party rooms. Cameron Street. At the conclusion of his address Mr Wilkinson was accorded a hearty vote of thanks.
