LEAGUE FOOTBALL

There is no necessity to analyse the merits and demerits of winners and losers in each game. An annual event, the matches wore played in good sporting spirit and. although especially in the junior fixture, more one-sided than supporters of either side would have hoped, provided good football.

Although outplayed in both forward and back divisions, the Maoris owed their defeat largely to inferior physical fitness. There was nodoubt that the white boys were fresher at the end of their games than their opponents.
