Mapping Whangarei’s Attractions

Visitors to Whangarei should have little trouble in finding their way about the town and district.

Sponsored by the Whangarei Chamber of Commerce, a new map of the town, accompanied by photographs of the principal tourist attractions in the district ,prepared by Mr G. E. Woolley, of the Art Studios, Whangarei, was hung in the Post Office vestibule this morning.

Not only will tourists and visitors benefit from the information contained in the map, but local residents also will appreciate the innovation. Measuring two feet by three feet, the map is the most up-to-date yet prepared of the borough. Every street is shown in detail, while playing areas, public buildings and the location of the principal amenities are shown by a handy reference. For Tourists’ Benefit.

In addition to information concerning the borough, there are photgraphs depicting the main tourist attractions within easy reach of Whangarei. The principal routes radiating from Whangarei to these attractions are clearly shown, and their distance indicated. When the map with its accompanying photographs was hung in the post office vestibule this morning, it immediately attracted attention, and was most favourably commented on by local residents. Compact and precise, and contained in a neat frame, the map should more than repay the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Woolley in preparing it.
