The North Auckland Farmers’ Coop., Limited, reports a fair entry, mainly of dairy cows, at its Maungakaramea sale yesterday. Good forward sorts met with keen competition, but backward and inferior sorts were hard to quit. Beef sold under keen competition at good prices. Good Jersey cows made from £7/5/- to £8; good Shorthorn cows, £6 to £6/10/-; backward Jersey cows, £4 to £5/15/-; Shorthorn heifers, £6/10/-; heavy fat cows, £7 to £7-17-6; lighter, £5/10/to £6/15/-; fat Jersey cows, £4 to £4/15/-; fconer cows, £2 to £3/5/-; light, £1 to 35/-; sows, £3/10/- to £5/5/-; aged boar, 10/6; good store pigs, 30/- to £2; slips, 21/- to 30/-. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report an excellent yarding of dairy cattle, which all sold under the hammer at the Maungakaramea sale. There was also a good yarding of pigs, which met with spirited competition. Springing cows, September calvers, made to £5/5/-; boner cows, £2 to £2/12/-; 2-year Shorthorn steers, £4/15/- to £5/15/-; store pigs, to 32/. Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report a large yarding of springers, which sold under brisk competition at the Maungakaramea sale. Dairy cows and heifers, close to profit, made from £6/15/- to £7/10/-; good cows, £5/10/- to £6/10/-; poorer and backward, £3/15/- to £5/15/-; fat cows, £5/15/- to £7; boner cows, £l/10/to £3; Shorthorn bulls, to £6/5/-; sows, due to farrow, £6/17/6; light, porkers, £2/4/-; good store pigs, £l/13/- to £l/19/-.
