Three Men Washed Off North Head Ledge
(Received 8-30 am.) SYDNEY, July 31
Three men were washed off a ledge on North Head this afternoon while fishing, and were drowned. Two others who attempted to rescue them had a narrow escape from death. The men had climbed down the 300 ft cliff to a flat ridge when a big wave came over and swept them into the water. In the heavy sea running they were unable to regain the rocks. Those drowned were Charles Coleman, aged 32; his brother Mervyn, aged about 30; and Harry Blackbridge, aged 30, all of Redfern suburb. The bodies have not been recovered.
