Kamo Stock Sale
Walter Wakelin reports having held his usual weekly sale at Kamo on Wednesday, when a large entry of dairy stock, and a medium entry of pigs, were submitted to. a large attendance of buyers. Competition for good quality dairy stock was brisk, but for backward and inferior cattle the market was quieter. Pigs, which were yarded in average numbers, met with an excellent demand, prices rising considerably on recent sales. Quotations: —Best dairy cows, Jersey and Jersey cross, -close to profit, £6 to £8; more backward, £4 10/ to £5 5/; good Jersey heifers, £5 10/ to £7 10/; backward heifers, £3 10/ to £5 10/: yearling Jersey heifers. £2 15/ to £4 6/; yearling Shorthorn heifers. £3 5/; boner cows. £1 15/ to £2 10/; potter cows, 5/ to £1: boner bulls, £3 to £4. Pigs: No heavy baconers or porkers were yarded. Light porkers, to £1 15/; large stores. £1 7/ to £1 14/'3; slips, £1 1/ to £1 8/; weaners, 14/ to £1 2/; Berkshire boars, to £5; breeding sows, to £5 5/; sows with litters, to £B. The entry of Red Poll cows, bulls and heifers on account of Mr A. E. Warren met with a good demand. A line of five empty two-year heifers realised 8 \ guineas. Pedigree Red Poll bulls, to 10 gns.
