Whangarei Hospital Finance
A financial statement showing receipts and expenditure for the first quarter of the now financial year, together with the figures for the same period of the June quarter of the previous year, was presented at the meeting of the Whangarei Hospital Heard today. Principal items of expenditure were:—Provisions. £103.1 t£B4B*; domestic. £973 i £923): salaries and wages. £2519 (£2255); charitable aid, £125 (£186); amounts paid to other boards. £53 (£213). Close to Estimates. The actual expenditure for the quarter was £6879. while the proportion 0 f the year’s expenditure provided for in the estimates, was £-6700. For the first quarter of the previous year the actual expenditure was £5784. On the receipts side, patients’ fees collected, brought in £2089. compared with £l9Bl for the first quarter of the previous year, 1 The chairman, Mr J. A. S. Mackuy, commented that the manner in which the receipts and expenditure were approximating the estimates was most satisfactory. Loan Moneys. On April 1, the beard had a credit balance of loan moneys of £24,198. During the quarter. £5711 was expended, leaving a credit of £18.487. The average number of beds occupied was 84 at the hospital and seven at the old people’s home. *
